20 BIBLE DISCUSSION QUESTIONS FOR KIDS

Are you trying to get your kids into studying the Bible? Having trouble starting discussions about the Bible in your home or class? Here are some great questions to ask your kids after reading the Bible to build understanding and promote healthy spiritual discussions!

If you’ve ever spent time around kids, you know that they can be deep thinkers and have lots of interesting questions that can sometimes be difficult to answer!

One of my favorite things growing up was our family Bible time before bed – we would read Scripture together, and then my dad (a missionary pastor) would ask us questions about what we read, explaining to use the context of the story or the spiritual truth we could learn from the passage. I learned so much from his teaching.

BUT, in addition to explaining what he saw from the passage, he also was SO good about leaving time to ask US questions, then let US kids ask HIM questions, too! Why did that person choose to do that? What does that word mean? Where is this city? Why does God say to do it like that? We sometimes would end up spending HOURS just talking about the Bible and church and heaven, and I know that it made a HUGE difference in my own life, even at a young age.

When you’re doing a Bible study with kids, asking your little thinkers questions and letting them ask you questions is a great way to build interest, attention, and love for God’s Word! And, it may bring out some interesting discussions you may never have had otherwise.

One of these Bible time sessions, my dad was asking us each about our salvation testimonies, and my little sister ended up trusting Jesus Christ as her Savior just because my dad allowed for some discussion during Bible time.

Discussions like these, though, don’t just have to be during a special, set-aside Bible time in your house or class. These can be had anywhere, anytime – in class, in the car, at a mealtime, outside at the park, or anywhere else you spend time with your kiddos!

You might be thinking, though, “I am NOT a creative person, and questions don’t come to my mind easily… where in the world do I start?”

Well, I have created several different printables for you and your kiddos with lists of questions you can ask them, and they, in turn, can ask you!

These questions are in book-club style and can be used for any size group of any age, so that you and your entire family can dig deeper into the Bible yourselves!
